Hymel & Ready CPA and Advisors, a full-service accounting firm based in downtown New Orleans, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our team. We offer traditional accounting and tax services, as well as a wide range of consulting services, including litigation support and forensic accounting.

What You’ll Do

As an Audit and Accounting Associate at Hymel & Ready CPA and Advisors, you’ll play a key role in our firm’s day-to-day operations. Here’s what you’ll be responsible for:

  • Conducting financial audits and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Examining financial statements and accounting records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Identifying and communicating audit findings and recommendations to clients.
  • Assisting in the preparation of audit reports and financial documentation.
  • Collaborating with team members to perform risk assessments and develop audit plans.
  • Taking the lead on specific audits, ensuring end-to-end responsibility.
  • Contributing to tax-related tasks and other accounting duties as needed.
  • Staying updated with changes in accounting and auditing standards and regulations.
  • Maintaining up-to-date bookkeeping records for clients, including preparing and reviewing financial statements and reports.

You’re Probably a Match If You Have

To be successful in this role, we’re looking for someone with:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Proven experience in auditing, with a minimum of 2 years preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and digital tools.
  • A proactive attitude and a knack for detail-oriented work.
  • The ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Versatility to handle both auditing and accounting tasks as needed.

Experience and Requirements

Here are the additional requirements for this position:

  • Experience Level: A minimum of 2 years in auditing.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (required). A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Work Environment: Hybrid, with both remote and in-office work as needed.
